ACHI-BU is a new systemic fungicide for rice blast (Pyricularia oryzae) control jointly developed by BASF and Nihon Nohyaku.
Characteristics:
- It is a Melanin Biosynthesis Inhibitor, but it has a different action site from other MBI products like tricyclazole, futhalide.
- It prevents formation of appresorium and prevents the penetration process of the fungus.
- It also has strong preventative activity of spore dispersion. Thus, it shows quite a long residual effect.
- It can be applied with a foliar spray and with a submerged application to paddy water.
